Mason-Lite modular masonry fireplace systems give you a true masonry fireplace at a fraction of the weight, cost and build time of a brick-and-mortar one. Shop pre-cast firebox kits in 33 to 75 inch sizes, with gas burner and vented or vent-free options.
A traditional site-built masonry fireplace takes a skilled mason weeks to build and needs a massive footing. A modular masonry system arrives as engineered, pre-cast refractory components that assemble in a day, weigh a fraction as much, and are UL listed for installation on a standard wood-framed floor with a non-combustible hearth. The result looks, radiates heat and lasts like real masonry because it is real masonry.
Mason-Lite kits are available in firebox widths from 33 to 75 inches, in standard and Rumford (tall, shallow) styles, and can be finished with brick, stone or stucco inside and out. Add a cast damper, structural metal base, height kit, masonry arch and interior brick panels to complete the firebox, then choose a matching masonry chimney system or an engineered air-cooled chimney to vent it.
Pair the firebox with a PureBurn vented or vent-free gas burner for the look of a masonry fire with push-button convenience. Vented burners require a working chimney; vent-free burners are limited in size by room volume and local code, so check both before ordering.

A pre-engineered kit of refractory or volcanic-pumice components — firebox, throat, smoke chamber and chimney sections — that stack and mortar together to form a true masonry fireplace in a day or two, instead of weeks of hand-laid firebrick. Isokern and Mason-Lite are the best-known systems.
Yes. Most systems are rated for outdoor use and are the fastest way to add a real wood-burning outdoor fireplace to a patio or pool house. Check each kit’s listing for indoor/outdoor approval and for gas-log compatibility.
Firebox kits are sold with matching chimney sections or are vented with a listed chimney system. The product page lists what each kit includes and which chimney kit pairs with it; call if you are unsure which combination you need.
Modular masonry fireplaces burn wood, and most are approved for vented gas logs. A few models also accept a gas insert. The listing for each model states what it is approved for.
