A sand pan burner is exactly what it sounds like: a steel pan you fill with sand, with a gas burner tube underneath. Light it and the flame rises through the sand across the whole width of the pan. There is no pilot, no valve train, no electronics — you open the gas key and touch a match to it.
That simplicity is the point. It is the least expensive way to get a real gas flame into an open fireplace, it has almost nothing that can fail, and the flame pattern is broad and even rather than concentrated at one point.
Available in 18", 24", 30" and 36" to suit the firebox. Measure the inside width of your opening and leave clearance at each side — the pan should not touch the side walls.
Sand pan burners are for vented fireplaces with a working flue that stays open. They are not vent-free appliances and must never be used in a sealed or unvented firebox. If you are unsure whether your chimney is suitable, ask before you buy.

A: We ship throughout the continental United States with free shipping on orders over $99 (flat rate $9.99 under $99). For Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories, please contact us for a custom shipping quote, which we'll provide within 1-2 business days. Orders to these locations are not processed until shipping costs are confirmed and approved. We do not currently offer international shipping outside of the United States and its territories.

A: Orders are processed within 1–3 business days, and delivery after shipment takes 5–14 business days depending on your location. Custom-made and made-to-order products require 2-3 weeks for production before shipment. Special order items typically take 1-2 weeks. You'll receive tracking information once your order ships.
